Beliefs

29.4.11

"I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls."
- Audrey Hepburn

*Pretty happy girl of the day: Princess Catherine. I just loved her elegant bridal gown designed by Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen.

In the navy

27.4.11

I've always had a thing for those striped Breton shirts. At the moment I have several marinières hanging in my wardrobe. Dark blue-white, black-white, grey-white, all the classic colour combinations as t-shirt, top, pull etcetera. Stripes rule!

Get shorty

22.4.11

My outfit for the next couple of days: a teenie weenie short. As the sun will be shining non-stop, my legs can finally get a tan.

Headgear

20.4.11

No more bad hair days. With a colourful scarf to hide your unruly manes, your day gets off to a good start. Check out this manual by The Glamourai. And toss it, knot it, twist it!

Flair

17.4.11

Still looking for the perfect pair of flared jeans. It seems like none of the denim brands have one in their current collection. Ideally high-waisted in a dark blue, has anyone seen a pair like this? If so, please report back to me...

Table d'amis

13.4.11

Time to change things at home... My old wooden dining table has to leave to get a better life in the country side at my parents house. I'm thinking of buying Ikea's Docksta table, a knock-off of the Saarinen tulip table. I might even throw some new chairs into the mix. A retro wooden one or maybe an Eames plastic chair. Keep you posted!

Style crush: Zanna Roberts

11.4.11

Among my favourite fashion folk is Mrs Zanna Roberts Rassi, senior fashion editor at US Marie Claire magazine. You might have seen her in reality tv show Running in Heels or have spotted her on the front row at fashion shows. The frail Brit has a nack for wearing basic clothes with a twist. Would love to have her wardrobe...

What's your flavor

9.4.11

"Fashion is a matter of taste, not money."
- Carine Roitfeld

Think outside the pot

7.4.11

Plants have the tendency to die whenever I'm around. Last year my colleagues gave me a wonderfull garden book as a birthday present. 'The Thrifty Gardener: how to create a stylish garden for next to nothing', written by Alys Fowler gives advice on how to create a garden space on a budget. Basic garden techniques, information on plants and how to make alternative plant pots: down-to-earth advice for a garden novice like me. Since the sun is finally out, I've started to clean up my balcony and get the plant containers out. Miss Greenfingers, that's me!

Blazer blues

6.4.11

Since the weather has been so good the last few days, I've packed away my winter coats and been wearing my blazers. A blazer suits any occasion and can be worn casual and chic. I would like to buy a navy blue one for the summer. Still looking for the perfect fit...

Springtime

2.4.11

Enjoying the first days of sunshine...
PS: It's my birthday in a couple of weeks, I would love to get the coral PS satchel as a present *wink wink*

Sunshine

Tous les jours dimanches

1.4.11

This petite restauration in Vieux Lille has a name that says it all... Sit back in one of the cute vintage chairs, have some delicious food and relax. For 13,50 euro you can choose one of the tasty grilled sandwiches with a glass of wine and a coffee. Or opt for a slice of quiche with a green salad, a homemade lasagna or an appetizing salad. In the afternoon you can pick a slice of fruit pie, a tartelette or dessert, accompanied by a cup of tea from Mariage Frères. The place is filled with treasures from flea markets, so cast an eye around while you're enjoying the food.
