Colour flash

Recently I came across the illustrations of Carole Wilmet, a Belgian illustrator that combines raw drawings with splashes of colour. Her inspiration comes from  fashion, magazines and music (recognize Lykke Li?). I love this kind of fashion illustrations and would love some to hang upon the walls in my new home...

One of my favourite bloggers + one of my go-to brands = perfect campaign!

Classy Chloé

Wide-leg trousers, floaty dresses, chic oversized sweatsuits and buckeled heels: I'm in love with the Chloé Resort 2012 Collection! The handbags are also to die for. The design team has  reworked some classics of the label, and I'm curious what new creative director Clare Waight Keller will bring us in her first runway show in October. Can she make my heart beat as fast?

Garden party

Last week British designer Stella McCartney threw a garden party to show her Resort 2012 collection. The models played ping-pong, dangled jojos and were taking shots at a piñata while the guests could eat colored candy as much as they liked. I loved the combination of prints: stripes and Hawaiian scenery work wonderfully together. Mix-and-match!

One of my summer staples are harem pants. Especially when the weather cools off, like the last couple of days, I tend to choose my grey slouchy pants in the morning. Combined with some heels, a blazer and top in a fine fabric, they are perfectly suited for work. And they make me feel comfortable for a long day in the office. Still looking for another pair in a silky textile for warmer summer days, tips anyone?

Parisian chic

One of the books on my current wishlist is 'Parisian chic, a style guide' by Inès de la Fressange. Never heard of her? She was the first model to sign an exclusive contract with Chanel in the 80s, a muse of Lagerfeld and is currently brand ambassador for Roger Vivier. In her style guide she captures the secrets behind the effortless chic of Paris' women. From a list of brilliant basics to fashion faux pas and her carnet d'adresses, the guide gives simple tips to dress in style. Mr Visa, where are you?

The Pixies

I'm in desperate need of a new summer hairstyle, so I made an appointment with the hairdresser to chop off my hair. Inspiration for my new pixie haircut: the ever so stylish miss Carey Mulligan. Hope my haircut will be just as beautiful.

Bought myself another cookbook today, just couldn't resist. I already have a couple of books written by Donna Hay. The recipes always combine great flavours and you don't have to be a masterchef to make them.  The book I bought today, 'Seasons', collects recipes that use fresh seasonal food. I especially like the food styling and the outdoor pictures. But of course there are lots of delicious dishes in there too. Check out some recipes on her site.

Style crush: Poppy Delevigne

Another English girl on my Best Dressed List: Poppy Delevigne is a blue-blooded model and socialite that shares her time between London and New York. She has an impeccable fashion sense, no wonder when your mum is head of personal shopping at Selfridges. And it runs in the family, as sister Cara is also strutting the catwalks. I love the way long-legged Poppy combines classic tailoring with edgy details. She makes it look so effortless...
