Tomorrow I'll be flying to Tuscany for some time off in heaven. A beautiful holiday home, great company, delicious food, charming Italians, idyllic landscapes and sunshine. Ciao!

All things food

Despite the vast collection of cookbooks I own, once in a while I don't know what to cook for dinner. I try to make a fresh dish every evening, but like to try out new ingredients and recipes. One of my favourite go-to blogs for inspiration is whatkatieate, a blog by Australian photographer and food stylist Katie Quinn Davies. The pictures on the blog are just mouthwathering. Tonight I'm trying out the baked eggs with feta on the picture in the middle...

Ice cream

The past few weeks the weather has been pretty bad here in Belgium. It seems like we have gone straight into fall without enjoying some summer sun. I refuse to believe summer has already come and gone. Dressing in soft pastels that remind me of ice cream colours, is the best way for me to beat the rainy days. Hopefully I can get out my summer dresses in August... and off course I still have my holiday in Italy next week to look forward to.

In between packing all my stuff into cardboard boxes - hundreds of them - I keep on searching for inspiration on how to decorate my new apartment. At first we were only going to paint the walls a crispy white, now we're planning to remodell the kitchen and bathroom entirely. My current apartment is really girlie with accents of vibrant pink. For the new place I want a Scandinavian look: white walls to complement the hard wood floors, clean lines with a couple of vintage and design pieces. I found lots of ideas via a post on one of my favourite Belgian blogs 70percentpure. She wrote about bo-laget, a Swedish real estate agency that sells the most beautiful apartments. Swedish remains gibberish to me, but they sure know how to decorate...

In. Need. Of. Some. Sunshine. I'm counting the days till my holiday in Italy. In 2 weeks time I will be soaking up sun in a small Tuscan village. Lounging by the pool, day trips to Firenze and Siena, delicious Italian food in the company of great friends: it will be the perfect holiday. Daydreaming about my holiday wardrobe...

It Mylk

I'm an ice cream girl. A perfect hot summer day isn't complete without a scoop or two. Ben&Jerry's have stood by me in sickness and in health. HaƤgen-Dazs and Magnum were there to celebrate good times and the Australians are just around the corner for a quick pick-me-up. Even abroad, I'm always on the lookout for the best frozen creams.
In Paris you can eat all the ice you want without feeling guilty. It Mylk sells all kinds of frozen yoghurt, milkshakes and cheesecake. You can have your pick topped with fresh fruit, mini macarons or chocolates. All products are homemade with natural ingredients and contain almost no calories. Second serving anyone?

Itsy bitsy teenie weenie

Yes, polkadots. And no, not on my new bikini. I saw a pair of flared polkadot pants in the sales I can't get out of my head. Once home I realised I don't own anything with polkadots, and what a shame that is. Only one problem... I can't remember where I spotted them.

I want to ride my bicycle

In between making arrangements for my big move and enjoying the sunshine, the blog was a bit neglected. So here's the first post for July: a site that brought a smile to my face and made me want to ride my bike. And I hate cycling through the city, so that's quite an accomplishment. Downtownfrombehind shows designers, musicians, artists etcetera riding their bike in New York City. Portraits of interesting people and the streets of downtown NY. Time to dust off my bike!
