Paper and chain

UK based jewelry brand Paper and Chain creates unique pieces with an edge. Best friends Naomi and Ismay wanted to design simple, elegant but not to overly girly jewels. To be treasured, gifted and worn for all sorts of occasions. All that and with a reasonable price tag. And boy, did they succeed! I immediately fell in love with the Vega Collection and its beautiful Arrow ring. All items are handmade and more than affordable. Placing my order as we speak...

Gorgeous galerie

I'm preparing another trip to Paris as we speak and my little blackbook is getting filled with places to see, bistros to eat and shops to... well, shop. One of the discoveries I made last year, was Galerie Vivienne. This beautiful shopping arcade in the 2th arrondissement is a haven of tranquility. Open since 1826, today the galerie still exudes grandeur with its mosaic floors, glass ceilings and hand carved ornaments. Enjoy a cup of tea chez A Priori Thé, browse through the postcards at the book shop or admire the designs of Jean Paul Gaultier in his shop at numéro 6.

Time for Spring

Can't wait for Spring... The cold and rainy weather of the past weeks is really getting to me. I'm dreaming of pretty pastels, l'heure de l'apéro, sunny walks around town, birds singing in the trees... Letting my hair grow out at the moment, hoping to achieve my Alexa Chung-hairdo soon. Maybe just in time for the new season?

Reading list

One of my favourite online shops is Amazon. There are months that I buy more books than clothes (go figure!) and I'm gradually running out of book shelves to put them on. It runs in the family I guess, both my parents and brother have heavily overloaded book cases.
I'm currently reading Jo Nesbo's crime series with enigmatic police inspector Harry Hole. And have a couple of books lying around for some light reading on the side - the biography of fashion editor Diana Vreeland, Plenty by Yotam Ottolenghi for cooking inspiration and some guides of Paris to prepare for my next trip. Next up: Never let me go by Kazuo Ishiguro. Leave a comment if you have any reading tips for me!
PS: check out The Book Cover Archive for nice cover designs.

Winter wonderland

Nice thought found via pennyweight. This weekend will be filled with long walks,
hot chocolate & apple crumble.

Found a great website this weekend and I'm happy to share it with you. Coffeeklatch is founded by Magali Elali and Bart Kiggen, two creative masterminds from Belgium. They visit intriguing people to drink a cup of coffee together and talk about the way they life live. The result: interesting conversations and beautiful pictures of their unique houses. The site is written in Dutch, but feel free to google translate...

Style crush: Taylor Tomasi Hill

You've seen this redhead popping up on the blog a couple of times already: Taylor Tomasi Hill. She's no stranger to fashion-minded people and a regular face on streetstyle sites. Miss Tomasi Hill was Style and Accessories Director at Marie Claire USA, but recently left to work for online retailer Moda Operandi. I tend to dress quite basic, but for my 'crazy' days I look for inspiration in the outfits of Taylor. A touch of leopard print, a pop of colour and a dose of bling bling.
