Last weekend I went to De Studio to attend food festival Krachtvoer. My favourite Belgian food blog Alle Dagen Honger organised the first edition of this festival with the theme: Grond (*soil/dirt/ground/earth). On the menu: movies, talks, tastings, workshops, an exposition and a food market. I listened to bio farmers and chefs, ate a delicious slice of carrot cake by Tinsel, discovered tasty cocktail syrups by Jigger's and saw what you can cook with leftovers thanks to food collective De Beek. Another foodie discovery was the funky food truck of Meteor - two young chefs served restaurant food from a rebuilt Renault van. Tasty!

What I loved... in September

September had its ups and downs. The month started off great with me getting on the plane to Turkey for some R&R. Halfway through my week in the sun, I got the flu. Spent another week in bed getting better when I got home again. Followed by a mountain of work. A sunday strolling around town with my nephews. My very-first zumba lesson (aka operation get-in-shape). Burgers and fries at Ellis Gourmet Burger with a friend. Finding treasures at the brocante in the Stadspark. A night on the town for my colleague's birthday: watching a burlesque show at Arenberg and dancing 80s style at Magic

Double up: black on blue

Black and dark blue are two of my favourite colours. I've always found it rather smart to combine them. Skinny jeans + an oversized coat =  weekend wear. A short leather skirt + a cozy knit = dressed-down dinner party. The perfect pump + a pencil skirt = corporate chic. If you need a pop of colour, just add a bright lip or red nails.
Et voila!

One of my favourite interior brands is HAY. This Danish company was founded in 2002 by Rolf Hay (what's in name?). They design contemporary furniture and accessories with a reasonable price tag. I love their tray tables, display box and minimal bed linen.
Tomorrow the first Belgian flagshipstore of the brand opens in the city centre of Antwerp, near the Fashion Museum. I had a little preview, and boy did it look good... Go and check it out yourself at the Ijzerenwaag 12a.
