Color me pretty

I've been on an emotional rollercoaster the last couple of days. Buying an apartment is nothing like buying a pair of shoes. Anyway, today is D-day, so keep your fingers crossed. Thought I inject some bold colours in my outfit today to boost my mood. Here are some great examples that served as my inspiration.

Room to live

Been looking all over town for the perfect apartment for a while now... and last week I've finally hit the jackpot. Things aren't official quite yet - I'm still waiting for the go-sign from the bank - but if all goes well I'll be signing the papers in a matter of weeks. No need to say that I've already decorated the place, in my head that is. Here are some ideas from my living room-moodboard.

Ali Baba's cave

Year after year, Paris reveals great shopping spots to me. On my trip last week, I stumbled accross a cute little shop in the Bastille area. Les fleurs sells a huge selection of jewelry, decoration, toys, bags, stationery... as soon as you enter the shop you won't know where to look first. Every nook and cranny is filled with goodies. I fell in love with the fun buttons from Spanish brand Le petit pot. Monsieur Moustache was my favourite and now he's mine... No time for a visit? Check the online shop!

Paris mon amour

Just got back from three lovely days in Paris. The sun was shining, the food was delicious (macarons overdose anyone?) and found some lovely new addresses to add to my little black book. Perfect mini-break, wish I was still there...

Hotel du Cap

On Monday, Monsieur Karl Lagerfeld showed the Chanel cruise collection in Antibes on the French Riviera. The extravagant Hotel du Cap was the place to be. Perfect choice as this is one of the most exclusive hotels in the world. I loved the variety in the collection: the floaty trousers, the cute hats, the accessories with cristals and pearls. Not so sure about the 'tango thongs', a new type of sandal Mr. Lagerfeld was very proud of...

Mother's Day

Don't forget it's Mother's Day today! Didn't have time to get your mum a present or some flowers? Send her this adorable e-card from Kate Spade and treat her to some me-time.

Nail it!

The countdown to my mini break in Paris has begun. On my long list of adresses to check out, is nail bar Paris-New York in the Saint-Germain area. Here you can get your nails painted in the OPI colour of your choice for - no kidding - €5! They also have the Minx nail designs. Chipped nails? You can walk straight in, no appointment needed.

Mamie Gâteaux

I will be spending three - no doubt - lovely days in Paris next week, can hardly wait... After the first obligatory stop at Ladurée for some first-class macarons in rainbow colours, I'm off to explore the city. My hotel is located in the lovely Saint-Germain area and one of my favourite lunch spots there is Mamie Gâteaux. Soup, salads, sweet and tasty homemade tarts in a cozy décor. Next to the salon de thé is a little brocante shop where they sell vintage tableware, linnen and small furniture. Sit at one of the tables on their streetside terras and watch the world go by while you enjoy some delicious food. Bon appétit!

Norwegian design duo Darling Clementine makes the most adorable greeting cards. In their online shop, you can buy not only cards but also trays, notebooks and cushions. My favourites? The Paris collection and the Marionette creatures. Their illustrations combine a nostalgic feel that I really like and a dose of Scandinavian design.
