Touch of time

Last weekend I went to the FoMu, here in Antwerp. The photography museum is located on 't Zuid, a neighbourhood with beautiful art nouveau buildings, fancy restaurants and trendy cafés. At the moment, there are four exhibitions on various themes. 

My favourite was definitely the Germaine Van Parys & Odette Dereze-expo. Germaine (1896-1983) was one of Belgian's finest photo journalists. Her sublime black-and-white pictures show important events of our cultural history, but always with a personal and human touch. Odette, her niece, followed in her footsteps and is safeguarding their precious archives until this day. If you're in the area, visit the museum and take some time to appreciate the work of these two extraordinary women. Girl power avant la lettre!
